Scholarship Program

The California League of Food Producers (CLFP) awarded its very first scholarship over 60 years ago. Today, CLFP continues to award scholarships each year to CLFP member employees and their children.

Since its inception, the program has awarded over $800,000, supporting hundreds of college students throughout California.

Individual Scholarship Application Period Opens Summer 2025

Our organization is committed to promoting higher education by offering a Scholarship Program exclusively for full-time employees, including those who work seasonally, and their dependents who are employed by CLFP Food Processor members and the Supplier Host Council. CLFP members can provide their employees and dependents with the opportunity to earn $500 or $1,000 scholarships to pursue higher education in California.

The scholarships are a small gesture of appreciation for their service in the food-processing industry. Undergraduates at accredited four-year California colleges/universities are eligible for $1,000 scholarships, while those enrolled in accredited two-year California community colleges can apply for $500 scholarships.

Open to all full-time or full-time seasonal employees and their dependents of CLFP Food Processor and Supplier Host Council (SHC) members.

University Outreach Program

CLFP maintains a strong working relationship with various departments at California universities and junior colleges, particularly in the field of Food Science. As part of its efforts to support the advancement of the industry, CLFP will donate directly to Food Science Clubs and Engineering Clubs at California educational institutions. This contribution provides students with opportunities to engage in industry-related activities and enhance their future prospects with our members.

CLFP members are always on the lookout for talented individuals to join their ranks, and the organization provides website links to help companies recruit and hire top students for internships or jobs. Companies interested in participating in job fairs or other on-campus recruiting events are encouraged to contact the universities directly.
