California produces nearly all of the domestic supply of canned & plastic packaged peaches. In addition, California produces more than half of all the frozen cling and freestone peaches produced in the US. California’s cling peaches are grown in the Central Valley extending one hour north of Sacramento to three hours south of Sacramento with just under 14,000 acres currently in production.

Canned and plastic packaged peaches and mixed fruit products are produced by two processors operating at total of 3 plants throughout the state. Frozen peaches are produced by two additional processors. Less than 2% of the California cling peach crop is shipped out of state to other processing outlets. (California Canning Peach Association)
