The California League of Food Processors, in an effort to promote higher education, offers a scholarship program for processor members’ full-time and full-time seasonal employees and their dependents, and for Supplier Host Council members’ full-time employees and their dependents. Each year, CLFP will award a total of $15,000 in food processor member employee scholarships and $2,000 in Supplier Host Council member employee scholarships. The scholarships will be awarded in any combination of $1,000 scholarships to students enrolled in a 4-year accredited California college or university and $500 scholarships to students enrolled in a 2-year accredited California community college.
Open to all CLFP food processor members’ full-time or full-time seasonal employees and their dependents, and all Supplier Host Council affiliate members’ full-time employees and their dependents. Must be an undergraduate student entering or attending a 4-year accredited California college or university or 2-year accredited California community college, and have a GPA of 2.5 or higher.
All applications must be accompanied by the following items:

Official, unopened transcripts of student’s most recent two years of study.

Two letters of recommendation (written within the last six months by someone other than a family member).

Completed application form.

Official proof of enrollment in an accredited 4-year California college or university, or an accredited 2-year California community college
The Executive Committee of the California League of Food Processors will select scholarship recipients. Awards will be decided based on the following criteria:
Grades/Academics 20%
Extra Curricular Activities 15%
Work Experience 15%
Professional/Career Goals 25%
Financial Needs 25%
All applications submitted should've been postmarked by October 1, 2007 in order to be considered for this year's 2007-2008 program. Applications which were postmarked after this date are not eligible for consideration this year.
Successful candidates will be notified of their award in November and scholarship checks will be mailed to the member company. All recipients will be invited to attend a scholarship ceremony during the annual convention of the California League of Food Processors in Sacramento in February.
