California League of Food Producers 27 approved funding for donations to university food science clubs and for a community college student scholarship. For the first time, it approved scholarship donations to engineering programs at two California colleges, to help meet the growing need of food processors for employees with the necessary technical training. Funding also was approved for scholarships for both CLFP Supplier Host Council members and food processor members. The board also received updates on legislative and regula- tory issues affecting the food processing industry from CLFP’s Directors of Government Affairs Trudi Hughes and John Larrea. See updates on these issues in this issue of The California Food Producer. The 2018 Fall Board of Directors Meeting will be held in Stockton on October 25, continuing a new one-day meeting format that was launched at the Fall Board Meeting last year. Another change this year will be holding the annual Supplier Host Tournament Golf Tournament the day following the meeting on October 26. The tournament will again be held at the Reserve at Spanos Park in Stockton.
