WHAT DO FOOD PROCESSORS IN GENERAL GAIN FROM BEING A MEMBER OF CLFP? In general, food processors gain significantly from being a member of CLFP. In addition to awareness of applicable regulatory and legislative issues, CLFP serves as a focal point for food processors. CLFP presents a united point of contact and focus when addressing specific regulatory and/or legislative initiatives. In addition, CLFP membership provides a forum for positive interaction between the food processors to develop consistent positions on the relevant initiatives and common concerns. Each food processor (CLFP member) brings a different and varying perspective as the various issues impact member companies to different degrees. CLFP is able to merge these various perspectives into a unified format and is the one voice representing the food processing industry. WHAT MADE YOU DECIDE TO SERVE AS THE CLFP CHAIR? CLFP is the only organization in California that truly represents the interests of all food processors. To serve as the CLFP chair provides an opportunity to be at the forefront as CLFP fulfills its mandate to the member companies. As a company, HCC is interested in remaining closely involved with the environ- mental issues and other areas that affect the California food processing industry. By serving as CLFP chair, HCC is gaining a valuable return on its investment in CLFP and is focused on ensuring that the direction of CLFP is addressing the needs of all member companies. DO YOU HAVE ANY SPECIFIC GOALS YOU WISH TO ACHIEVE AS CHAIR?
