The Production Manager is responsible for all
aspects of production during their
shift/operational area including safety and
employee satisfaction. This individual will
direct the work of the production team and be held
accountable for the safety, customer service
(internal & external) Quality and productivity.
They will also be involved in maintenance
management.
This position requires a seasonal commitment
during July - September, which involves 75
straight days of work, 12 hours/day, 7 days/week,
and probably night shift. For the balance of the
year this is a day shift position. During high
season overall duties include:

Management of department supervisors,
overall crew of approximately 600 including Union
employees

Identify production bottlenecks
-
Troubleshoot equipment and improve
inefficiencies

Identify and justify ways to improve
quality and productivity

Develop performance measurement process,
develop key personnel
During the off-season, responsibilities will
include:

Project management, including the creation
of reports in Excel and Access to analyze
production numbers

Involvement with Environmental reporting
and compliance as well as Utilities Management
-
Assist Maintenance Managers with purchasing
and recordkeeping
-
Assist in development of Preventive
Maintenance Program
The PM should be able to develop systems and
processes to manage continuous improvement of key
indicators such as: pounds per man hour, downtime
reduction, produce turn around response time,
recordable accident rate, facility food safety
audit rate, etc.
