

SERVICE TECHNICIANS
PURPOSE:
|
Summarize briefly the major function and purpose of
the position.
To review and create electrical designs, drawings
and specifications involving existing and new
technology for food processing equipment |
ENTRY QUALIFICATIONS:
|
What are the minimum qualifications an employee must
have in order to perform the duties of the position?
(I.e. educational requirements, licenses,
certification, work experience, training etc.)?
This position requires an associate degree or
equivalent with an emphasis in industrial machine
controls. Must have experience in control system
products: developing, testing, documenting,
manufacturing and maintaining. Requires five plus
(5+) years in with industrial controls systems
involving hardware and software development
projects.

Ability to understand PC based control systems
with Microsoft O/S

Ability to read machine control electrical
schematics
-
Ability to program PLC’s & GUI systems
-
Ability to configure industrial machine controls,
including AC/DC drives
-
Ability to read, interpret and prepare applicable
technical information and suggest design/process
changes to ensure simple, functional and cost
effective results
-
Ability to communicate within a team environment
-
Ability to analyze and interpret data
-
Ability to anticipate potential problems and take
preventative actions
-
Ability to use MRP based business system, Syteline
or equivalent
-
Technical writing skills
-
Ability to work with customers to solve issues
-
Ability to solve technical problems quickly in a
high pressure production environment

SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES / ACCOUNTABILITY:
|
Indicate
budget/revenue
responsibility.
Explain the degree of supervision/guidance,
procedures/ processes used, judgment, creativity,
planning & resourcefulness needed to do the job.

Use AutoCAD and other software to provide high
quality equipment designs & drawings at the lowest
possible cost
-
Effectively interact with all functional areas of
the business
-
Perform startup, testing, troubleshooting,
training and installation assistance for food
processing equipment control systems at FMC
manufacturing facilities and at the customer’s
site.
-
Work on industrial control systems and related
test equipment including PLC’s, PC’s, loop
controllers, control valves, level probes, flow
meters, RTD’s and other miscellaneous hardware.

Work with contractors on all phases of project
installation and startup

business by

Using CAD, database systems and available
resources to make layouts, evaluate control
systems, analyze and generate new designs

Testing and evaluating prototypes and products

Traveling to customer sites to perform controls
start-up and trouble-shooting of food processing
equipment and operator training

Writing PLC programs to control various
equipment
-
Creating functional OIT screens for operator
interaction
-
Meet with customers to determine needs and
recommend solutions

Assist with development of quotes

Prepare reports, correspondence, procedures and/or
specifications by

Consolidating technical data and papers from
sales personnel, customers and publications

Using effective internal presentation and report
writing skills

Maintain valid drivers license must be maintained
